A
graduate of New York's Parsons School of Design, I have extensive experience
in the picture framing industry.
Over
the years I have developed a broad range of skills including chopping and
joining, textile stitching and lacing, mounting, object
box framing, wheat paste hinging and working with fabric mats.
More
than 20 years ago I began studying french matting,
a
technique that involves the meticulous application of ink lines and watercolor
wash panels around the perimiter of a matted piece.
Few
framing professionals practice this intricate art. Now, working out of my studio in Asheville, NC I have made it my specialty.
A painter of abstract figures and of landscapes sketched on road trips across
America, I occassionally show my work locally and am represented in Chicago by Chicago Art Source Gallery. I am also developing
a line of photo frames, photo folios and other decorative accessories for the
home.
